In March 2020 Argentinian guitarist Ludwig Mack landed in the UK eager to explore and embrace the rich British music scene. The day after he landed the country went into lockdown and Ludwig found himself unexpectedly stranded in a quiet cottage in a small Cotswold village.
By a curious twist of fate, he connected with British singer-songwriter Will Lawton via Instagram during this time of isolation. To their surprise, they discovered they lived only a few miles apart. When they finally met in person it quickly transpired that they shared a natural musical chemistry and an ease in writing songs together. As their friendship deepened and their collection of songs expanded, a community began to form around the music. Musicians including Robert McLeod and Guillem Mitchel were drawn to the project, contributing to the recording and production of the album. They were soon joined by singer-songwriter Freya Everest and session drummer Toby Partridge. This album is the product of unexpected friendships, shaped by stillness and uncertainty. It is a testament to the solace and connection that music can offer in a bewildering and unpredictable world.
